Camping Recommendations For Men Or Women New To Camping

There are many out there who haven’t been camping yet, but have thought about it. Then you will need some camping advice. Here are a few things that we can tell you that are nice to know. We wish we would have known them beforehand. Now, we would like to inform you of them.

Among the first things that you’ll find is that you need to ensure that you know basic first aid. When you know about first aid, you will know how to handle the most basic of things. When you do this, you will find that you are ready for most things that might happen as you camp. Anything can happen when you camp. This would be the first tip that we have.

Another tip that we have would be to make sure you know where you are going. This means that you should have a map and read up on the area. When you read up about the camping location you are going to, you can find what you need to bring and so forth. This is helpful to help you stay safe and be prepared.

Along with those things that you want to pack, water should be the biggest thing. There are occassions when you can’t get near water that is clean. There are times when you will need clean water. Such as when you cook and if you’d like to clean a wound. You don’t want to use dirty water for these and these are things that you need to remember.

Yet another thing that you need to remember is that there are tricks to fixing things. For instance, if you want to hold something together, then you need to bring with you duck tape. While they joke and say it’s man’s best friend, it is the campers best friend as well. Understand that.

The last thing we will tell you is that it’s always better to camp with someone. It makes the work go faster. In addition to all that, it is fun. Anyone going for their first time is advised to go with a group. This is for your own good.

When you follow these suggestions, you will be on the right path to having fun. These are some that others gave us. So, if camping is something you have desired to try, then put this as things we recommend. Then camping defintely won’t be so hard your very first time.

Wilderness Camp – Why Should I Consider That?

The camping or wilderness camp is a great way to get back in touch with nature. Children, adults and teens can learn a lot and not to mention that they have the chance to live unique experiences. Therapeutic benefits are recognized for many wilderness programs as they approach depression, disruptive behavior and nervous breakdown very efficiently. Anyone interested in enrolling on a wilderness camp, should carefully study the offers and options available, because programs are organized in many beautiful corners all over the United States.

Even when you decide on a specific wilderness camp and you are pleased with the conditions it offers, you still need to do a lot of preparations. You can learn some basic things on the Internet, but the official camp site should also provide advice and must-have camp items like tent and backpacking food ideas. If you need a tent, pack a quality weatherproof one that sets up easily and rapidly and has insect flaps. Another thing you need to pack is the sleeping pad, a thin light foam material that keeps cold away and helps you sleep comfortably.

Find out something more about the whereabouts of the wilderness camp, so that you know what clothes and extra equipment to bring. The sleeping bag should be light but warm enough for the conditions; if the temperatures drop considerably at night then you’ll need a sleeping bag that insulates very well. A wilderness camp can offer thrilling experiences to the participants, no matter the age. Children benefit so much from being in the wild. They learn how to cooperate and live in the community, how to respect and protect the environment, how to stay connected and be joyful, and how to live a good life ultimately. A wilderness camp will take participants somewhere in the woods or deep in the mountains, providing a different perspective on life than it is viewed with the urban eye. It makes a great change from urban existence to go on a wilderness camp whether with family or in an organize form.

Check the specifics of a wilderness camp before enrolling you children for one. The teen or child needs to perceive the experience as positive and enriching. Wilderness programs offer an educational alternative to traditional programs; they develop love for the environment, responsibility not to mention that they help your child bond and make friends.

Camping In California Is A Vacation To Celebrate

Camping in California is a blast. California is known for its famous state and national parks. The local attractions have tourists keep coming back. The weather is beautiful all year round. Camping in CA will be an experience to remember. The list of fun filled activities is unending.

Whether it is a family vacation, a retreat with a large group, or a romantic weekend, you will never find yourself being bored. The camping sites offer so much to do for every one, and for all ages. Go horseback riding, biking, mountain climbing, swimming, fishing, and more. If you want to do nothing, there is no better place for it. Relax the peaceful outdoors while soaking in the sun and fresh air. If you are an ocean lover, the beach is not far. If you can’t get enough of the beach, you will love camping at the beach grounds.

California is well-known for its diversity, in so many aspects. And that very well applies to the camping sites too. Enjoy camping at a destination of your choice. You can go camping at the beaches, the mountains, state or national parks, deserts, lakes, country, the city, etc.

Make your selection according to your climate preference. If you are visiting the southern California, the local attractions are unending. On some crazy days, you may even find the local natives wearing shorts and tank tops in the middle of October! Where else in the world can you see that?

The summer weather in southern California can reach triple digits. If you do not like scorching hot weather, take a trip up north where it is still sunny yet cool. Even sleeping in the tent and really roughing it won’t be a bad idea because most places will be so gorgeous.

Renting an RV and finding a park is what most people tend to do when camping. The art of camping in modern times makes it more comfortable. Whether you are renting an RV, roughing it out in tents, or enjoying a pampered experience in fancy accomodations, camping in california will be an experience to remember.

Camp In France To Explore The Variety

Taking a vacation in France has changed a great deal in recent years and if you want to camp in France today, you will find a great many very well equipped facilities. Mobile homes and family tents are luxurious to say the least and site offer everything the holiday maker needs to have relaxing and entertaining time.

Relaxing and being entertained is easy when you are in France, they cater for a huge tourist industry, and many very attractive camp sites in both country and coastal setting are available. You just pack up your tent or camper and move on to the next spot. This enables the holiday maker to see as many or as few different places as they like.

Resort-like French campsites are well organized and maintained, they have every facility you would ever need, and are great value for money. If you are careful how you choose your site when you camp in France, you should be able to find a good one that will allow you access to the coastline and the countryside, so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

You can camp in the Alp or in Vendee, the Cot ‘dAdur or Cannes, all these areas are grist for the mill of the avid camper. When you camp, everyone in the family can have a great time and you could even take Grandma and Grandad with you.

Two lovely areas are Gascony and Royan, where there is plenty to keep you entertained. They are coastal areas, surrounded by stunning countryside and they are also wine and Cognac making areas. When in Royan visit the Island of Oléron, it is famous for its magnificent beaches and is home to an ancient citadel, holiday makers can gain access by bridge. The valley of the Charente River is a famous Cognac making area, so don’t leave without sampling some.  Of course, do your sampling long before you get back into the car.

Food and France work hand in hand, and restaurants proffer fine wines and even finer food to their guest. What money you save by camping, should be used to sample some of the local seafood and other fare. For really great wine making it is highly recommended that you pay a visit to the Médoc peninsula in Royan.

One of the most important oyster farming areas can be found just south of Bordeaux, and Bordeaux wines are also world recognized. Yes oysters are farmed, but perhaps in not the conventional sense! Bordeaux is also world renowned for the fine wine it produces and while the kids are entertaining themselves with organized activities at your campsite, you could be off enjoying some seriously adult fun, wine tasting.

Camping In Florida Is The Ideal Adventure Escape

Adventure vacations are easy to organize when you go camping, because you can just pack up your tent and move onto the next place with very little planning, if you feel like it. The expense factor is what draws many adventurers to camping, but they also enjoy it as a way of going on vacation more often than you might normally be able to afford.  Camping in Florida makes for the ultimate adventure vacation it is inexpensive, and once you have met the initial expense of buying your tent and all the other items you need, you will get years and years worth of wear out of them. It is not expensive to camp; camping site fees are very reasonable indeed, and unlike a hotel vacation you don’t have to break the bank to have fun.

There is such a lot to do and see in Florida, the coastline is great and it is also interesting to visit the interior of the state. Florida has very good weather which makes it an idea destination for camping. Lovely golden beaches and warm seas to swim in are a draw card, but this is not all Florida is about.

From Panama city to Miami where you can experience Cuban culture, you will be very pleased with any of the choices you make and camping makes for a perfect family vacation.

The oldest city in Florida is Milton which was incorporated in 1844. This is the county seat for Santa Rosa County, and it is and interesting City as well as a great place to make camp. Not in the city of course, but in one of the many campsites you will find in the surrounding countryside.

Adventure seekers find Milton a delight as there is so much to do, enjoying nature up close while you rope or rappel your way down scenic mountains, and of course water sports. Close to Pensacola, Fort Walton and Panama City, Milton is the ideal city to make your base to explore these areas. But when you are camping your home is mobile, so you could hope from one camp site to the next to visit all of these places. There are plenty camp sites available in this vacation state.

Nearby to Milton, you will find one of the most beautiful National Parks, the Blackwater River State Park, and this is a nature lovers hot spot. The river is pristine and makes the prefect destination for water sports lovers. Kayaking, fishing and swimming are some of the favorite activities at this vacation spot.

The Gulfarium in Fort Walton is a must see if you are visiting the area. This is an aquarium, and a great place to learn about the see creatures who inhabit the Florida coast and wetlands. Remember this is the state where you find the Florida Keyes. The dolphins and sea Lions are very entertaining and the creatures of the aquarium are very interesting.

In Florida, where the sun shines and warmer temperatures abound, RV camping in Florida is a new hot trend. You have the convenience of over 150 locations offering you all of the choices to make this a great vacation.

When you come to Florida, whatever outdoor activity you wish to participate in, the suggestions for places to stay are only based on how much of a good thing you wish for you and your family. There is fishing, world class golf, boating on either the Atlantic Ocean or in the Florida Gulf. You will find some of the best snorkeling in the world, 6 of the top 20 beaches in the country and depending on your location, some of the best sunsets that you will ever experience.

This location is always sold out during the Winter months, but you can get on a cancellation list to get you into this site. This resort gets over a large percentage of reoccurring visitors. They offer fishing, cookouts, grills, snorkeling and with a protected environment, you will see Flora and Fauna that is only common in Florida.

C. Gamble Rogers State Park is located in Flagler County, in the mid northern part of the state. This resort is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway. With the beach being the most important feature of this resort, all beach activities are happening all day, every day. During low tide, make it a point to walk the beach to catch sea turtles laying their eggs and collect some beautiful shells to remind you of your trip.

D. If you enjoy fresh water, then you might consider Gold Head Branch. Located between Jacksonville and Gainsville, this spot has been a favorite for years. This 2300 acre park is the home of Bald Eagles, Gopher Tortoises, Fox Squirrels, Foxes, Snakes and other Florida furry animals. The fall is a wonderful time to visit this resort as wildflowers are in full bloom and the park feels, looks and smells wonderful.

This is just a sampling of the many choices you have when you head to Florida in your RV. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection manages over 150 parks and each one will offer you a great location to do whatever you have chosen to do for your RV vacation. Make Your Own Memorable Vacation Camping In Pennsylvania And New Jersey

To camp in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will afford you the opportunity to create the wilderness experience that you want to have. People have different definitions as to what camping is to them and they wish create fun memories for their family.

Some like to camp for the simple sake of getting away from the emails, BlackBerrys and other technological nuisances of the world. Others believe that camping is done around other activities like hunting, kayaking and fishing.

Camping in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will also offer you two totally different environments. If you enjoy backpacking, RVs  or camping with just tent you can find a place for you. There are campgrounds that are  traditional in nature, out in the woods and removed from civilization. However; there are  also campgrounds that are close the beaches and amusement parks of New Jersey.

Pennsylvania is known for offering a rougher terrain and a more rustic type of camping adventure. You can start your adventure somewhere along the Appalachian Trail. During the fall, the backdrop of Pennsylvania’s beauty can be seen throughout the state. Hiking trails and the hunting is plentiful throughout the state.

In New Jersey, you can choose from camping in the woods or camping on the beach. Unfortunately, there are not any remote areas of beachfront that are not overseen by the state government. This makes finding designated camping grounds easier but if you are looking to for total solitude, you might only find that on off seasons.

For those that enjoy camping grounds that have the amenities that make life a little easier there plenty to be had in either state. There are campgrounds that are located close to amusement parks, so that you can have both the enjoyment of camping and have a place to take the kiddies during the day.

It does not matter how you and your family define camping experiences because there is something for everyone. Pennsylvania and New Jersey offer so many different camping options that you can go every year and have a different experience every time.

What You Need For Delicious Camping Food

I remember camping when I was younger. I did this as a Girl Scout and with friends. My  family wasn’t too big into it, but at the lake where we vacationed summer after summer,  there was one family who rented the other cottage. They were big campers and they would use  the fire pit at the lake to have good old camping food. Here  are some of the things that we always looked forward to.

The first thing when it comes to camp food that  you have to have is beans. All you need is a little pot to cook them on. Just open the can  and warm them up. Then you have dinner. It’s really that simple.

Something we loved to have also while we camped was popcorn. You listen to ghost stories and  as you are entranced by the story teller you are eating popcorn that was popped in aluminum  foil. Kernel by delicious kernel you enjoy the flavor.

Since you wont’ have access to a refrigerator or one would assume you need to have  dehydrated products. Who said you had to give up your favorite meals? With things like  dehydrated milk and eggs they won’t go bad so you can have eggs for breakfast and you can  make meatloaf and all of those things. There are ways to be true campers and have the  camping food you like. That’s what is great about camping. You’ll love the food and the  outdoors. It’s not everyday you get to see the true beauty of nature in this aspect.

You need to think about storage too. You might have some leftovers and what about the foods  you bring? There are some that need to stay cold. It is recommended to bring ice packs for  those. As we said before you can work about different dilemmas.

Last, but not least, you need to bring pots and pans. Now, you can’t put this over the  campfire, but they do have portable stoves that you can get. This will allow you to boil  water easily and more. So if you are looking to improve your camping experience and have  great camping food this is how.

Get with the program. Sure camping is supposed to be old fashioned, but who says you can’t  get cool cooking toys? Give them the meals they deserve and you could have a grand old time.  Here’s to camping food and the stuff you love to make!

Camping In New Jersey Is A Fun Filled Alternative

There is a myriad of activities for you to participate in while camping for instance there are many staggering trails and foot paths taking you through wild and cultural lands which is surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. Delaware National River offers tours and also has four other parks which you can visit.

If you would like to experience the home of a famous person you can visit the Edison museum Site. Have you ever wondered where your ancestors came from and would like to trace their line visit Ellis Island National Monument? Or you can just relax and go fishing, cycling or participate in team sports as well as explore nature at the Getaway. A wonderful coastal heritage can be found at the Morristown National Historical Park.

New Jersey Pinelands National reserve is a must as it is an exceptionally special place. And for those that appreciate being silly from time to time  should not miss the Doo Dah Parade.

Spoil yourself by spending a wonderful relaxed evening where you can dine at the Cape May. There is really just so much that one can do and enjoy in New Jersey when camping. Beachcomber is a very popular camping resort where you can enjoy many different recreations and visit the local attractions.

Consider Going Camping In Pennsylvania

The next time you go camping in PA (Pennsylvania) there are some things you should consider. When you think of camping and the outdoors most think of Yosemite Yellowstone and large famous parks. Pennsylvania, though not on the top of the list has other attractions that you should be aware of.

Most state parks are open seasonal. Pennsylvania has three state parks that are open year round. These parks include Little Pine, Promised Land, and Ole Bull. Since this location is in the upper northeast, these parks get a taste of all the different seasons.

At one particular park Promised Land has a 422 acre lake, which fishing is a common pastime. During the winter season ice fishing is also a big hit among visitors. That is not the only attraction during the long winter months. Campers in Pennsylvania enjoy cross country skiing and twenty three miles of snowmobile trails.

The majority of the state parks are seasonal. Champan, Gifford Pinchot, Pine Grove Furnace, Shawnee, Parker Dam, and Pymatuning are the top seven state parks in Pennsylvania. Each park has different scales of attractions. Pymatuning may be the most know because of its size. It is one of the largest parks in the state reaching 21, 122 acres. It’s reservoir covers over seventeen thousand acres. This is one of the many reasons why it is also the most visited park in the state.

Before any camper voyages to their campsite, they must know the rules and regulations. Pennsylvania parks have textbook rules. You  can bring your pets a long as its dog, cat or a caged animal, that being a bird or something  of the sort. Of course, no fires outside of the fire rings and grills. There is one rule that  might make some campers go to a local private campsite. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the campsites or the state parks. This may be a bad thing for a few campers, though there are plenty of campsites outside of the state parks where having alcohol is legal.

Another large attraction for campers is the elk ranges. This is state land that the elk are free to roam and graze about. An elk is much bigger then a deer. A typical male elk can reach a thousand pounds.

Hunting and game options offered on state parks if you have proper paperwork and its the right season. Game animals include grouse, whitetail deer, pheasant and wild turkey. Black bears and coyotes are native to the land. Be sure not to leave out any food around the campsites.
